John R. Ellis  President, Broker, Realtor®

John Ellis is the President, and CEO of LS Real Estate, Inc. John is a licensed Real Estate Broker and Realtor, with a CAM (Certified Apartment Manager) certification from the Apartment Association, California Southern Cities, in cooperation with the National Apartment Association. He established the company back in 2002 and has grown it into the corporation it is today.  John has worked hard establishing the vision and charting the path of growth for LS Property Management. As acting Broker, John is meticulous about details and accuracy within clients’ accounts, and has a reputation for placing clients’ needs, goals, and objectives at the forefront of every transaction. As a property manager, John provides his clients with communication, negotiation, and management skills in combination with an in-depth knowledge of the surrounding areas, neighborhoods, and real estate markets. He is always looking for new ways of using current technology to provide a higher level of service to all his clients.  For many years, John taught property management classes for the City of Whittier and the Apartment Association, California Southern Cities; including, emergency preparedness, tenant screening and fair housing issues. He has also served as chair of the Whittier Apartment Association of Owners and he is currently a member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers, and the Apartment Owners Association.  John is a devoted husband and father of 2 grown children.  He enjoys photography, shooting sports, traveling, and spending time with his lovely wife, Julie.

Gladys Benavidez  Vice President, Broker Associate, Realtor®

Gladys Benavidez is a licensed Broker Associate and Realtor® who has been part of the LS Real Estate, Inc. team since 2008. She was first hired as a part time office assistant to later become our Office Manager, Operations Manager and now our Vice President. Growing in and out of all her roles, she is a seasoned and experienced property manager. Whether you are an Owner, Resident, Buyer, or Seller, Gladys will assist you in your real estate adventure with her lively energy, integrity, and top-notch customer service. Her most rewarding feeling is when a property owner grasps and recognizes that leasing a quality product, plus quality service, gets them quality rent and quality renters. She and her husband Andrae, have 2 boys. Joziah, 6 - and Jacob, 5. Gladys is also a big Dodgers fan. In addition to attending many home games, she has traveled to San Francisco, Miami, San Diego, and Seattle to watch them play.

 

Brenda Nuñez  Office Manager, Licensed Agent

Brenda Nuñez is our faithful Office Manager, and has been part of the LS Real Estate, Inc. team since 2013. Brenda makes sure that everything in the office is running smoothly and on schedule. She tackles a variety of tasks- everything from bookkeeping to appointment making. She handles client phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication to our residents, vendors, and owners. Brenda conducts all her business with calm, patience, and integrity. She is the office problem-solver and always a team player who is committed to helping others.  She is bilingual in both English and Spanish and is equally responsive and helpful in both languages. She appreciates the fact that LS Real Estate, Inc. conducts all of its business with integrity, professionalism, and puts people first.  In addition to staying busy at the office, Brenda fills her time being a mom to four wonderful children, with the oldest starting college and the youngest starting second grade.

 

Silvia Jauregui  Office Assistant

Silvia Jauregui is the LS Real Estate Office Assistant.  She has been with the company since May 2020 and joined the team after many years of experience in education as a preschool and kindergarten teacher.  She is excited for the opportunity to acquire new skills and experience in the real estate and property management fields. Silvia handles client phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication to our residents, vendors, and owners; in addition, she completes a wide range of tasks including preparation of email newsletters and application approvals.  She makes sure the office is running smoothly by keeping files up to date and scheduling property showings. One of her favorite tasks is communicating with residents and property owners to assist them in any way she can. Silvia is a devoted wife to her husband of almost 22 years, and mother to 2 children—her son, age 20 and daughter, age 17.  She loves to travel with her family to other states and countries, and they especially like trying out different types of food wherever they go! She enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, and she also loves to cook and bake.  We are glad to have Silvia as part of the LSRE Team and wish her continued success with the company.

 

Richard Brown Maintenance Supervisor

Richard Brown is Maintenance Supervisor for LS Real Estate, and he performs a variety of tasks including repairs, apartment rehabs, and property inspections. In addition, he makes sure all properties are safe and secure. Richard recently joined the LSRE Team and brings twenty-plus years of experience to the position as a plumber, electrician, and carpenter. He is a problem solver, and approaches jobs with a can-do attitude, making sure the project gets done right and in a timely manner. He is also a good communicator and is sure to keep the office staff up to date on progress taking place on the job sites.  Richard is a devoted husband to his wife Erica, and father of 2 boys—Richard, age 5 and Charlie, age 4 months. Richard’s hobbies include everything to do with his family—the fun (and work) never stops!  He also enjoys doing all kinds of D.I.Y. projects, and somehow, his love for these hobbies managed to turn into his current supervisory position.  We are glad to welcome Richard to the team and wish him good success in this essential role with the company.

Paul Bonner  Move-In/Move-Out Coordinator

Paul Bonner is the Move-In/Move-Out Coordinator for LS Real Estate, Inc., and performs our property inspections.  Paul has been with LS Real Estate, Inc. the longest, and is a property owner himself- who uses the services of LS Real Estate, Inc., of course.  He is certified by the National Apartment Association, both as a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) and a Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT).  Paul earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from Cal State University, Dominguez Hills, and his Master’s Degree in School Management from the University of La Verne.  Paul retired from teaching after 30 years as an elementary school teacher.  Paul is a devoted husband, father of 2 grown children, and a grandfather of 3.  Paul enjoys reading books, magazines, and newspapers, especially with a hot cup of cocoa with his morning paper!

Karen S. Toth  Realtor®, Notary

Karen S. Toth is a licensed Realtor and has been with LS Real Estate for several years working both the property management and real estate sales divisions of our company.  She is also able to provide our clients with Notary Public services, and has served as a Whittier Chamber of Commerce ambassador.  She has extensive experience in both property management and real estate sales and enjoys working with both buyers and sellers.  Karen is a devoted wife and mother of 4 grown children, and grandmother of seven.  She is a sports enthusiast, loves playing Spades, and enjoys cooking and spending time with her grandkids.  Karen is definitely a “people person” and is enthusiastic about everything she does!  Karen is available to assist you with any of your real estate needs.
